MOTOROLA SOFTMODEM

It seems to work on Mandrake 8.0 with this drivers:

http://e-www.motorola.com/products/softmodem/support/software.html#DFwinMill

but I've founded many bugs (only RedHat 7.1 is supported).
I think there is nothing to do, Motorola doesn't support this modem and driver's source code or any informations about it are top secret !!

UPDATE: important news here!

SiS 7018 AUDIO SYSTEM

Audio chipset is correctly supported by Mandrake 8.0 like Trident 4DWave and it is configured during installation.
You can check if your system is ok checking in "Control Center" -> "Information" -> "Sound" module if something like this is shown:

Sound = ....
Kernel = ...
Config = ....
Installed driver = Type 10:ALSA emulation
Card config = SiS 7018 PCI Audio ...
Audio device = 0:Trident 4DWave (DUPLEX)
Synt = ....
Midi = ...
Timers = ...
Mixer = 0: Analog Device ....

Now make sure that the volume is turned on (use Kmix to do it).
It can seems stupid, but many people asked me about sound problems because they haven't understand that this is the "problem" ;-)
Please note that 'Alsa' and 'Sound' daemons must be running.
